Ah, come in, dear listener. Welcome to The Ghostly Grotto. I'm afraid I haven't been keeping up on our weekly meetings as I should be, but I'm back this evening with another spine-chilling broadcast for you, received and transmitted over my 1932 Magnavox Olympia radio. If you sit just close enough, and I adjust the cords just right, we should be getting a signal.... Ah! Dreadful John At Midnight was a 1960s radio program which aired from 1963 to 1967 on WKCR radio. The narrator, never named and the actor who played him is unknown, said the show's production was made possible by King's Crown Radio programming. This is one of the most scarce and rare radio programs out there (the Old Time Radio catalog's digital library only lists 13 existing episodes!), but here's a very interesting episode titled "The Boarded Window," which takes place down South in Civil War times. Now, put out that candle! And listen to the story...
